BRUNSWICK, Maine — Two Brunswick residents have been arrested for selling heroin.
Justin Coffin and Tara Dry-Crooker, both 35 and living at 23 Oak St. in downtown Brunswick, were charged with unlawful trafficking of heroin, according to Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency Mid-Coast District Task Force searched the couple’s apartment midday Friday and found 800 bags/doses of heroin along with $5,000 in cash. The street value of the heroin is $16,000, McCausland said.
For the past month, drug agents have been investigating the couple, who frequently traveled outside Maine allegedly to purchase heroin and then sell it in Lincoln and Sagadahoc counties, he said.
Coffin and Dry-Crooker were arrested at their apartment without incident and taken to the Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset. Bail was set for Coffin at $2,000. Dry-Crooker’s bail was set at $500, McCausland said.
Both are scheduled to appear in West Bath District Court on Jan. 12. Assisting drug agents were deputies from the Lincoln and Sagadahoc sheriff’s offices, along with Bath and Brunswick police.
