HAMPDEN, Maine — A medical issue was a factor in a Monday morning crash that sent a pickup truck into a garage door on Kennebec Road, according to police.
Wayne Campbell, 62, of Hampden was heading to a family woodlot in town when he decided to turn around after not feeling well, according to Hampden police Sgt. Dan Stewart.
The crash was reported shortly before 8:00 a.m. Monday.
Campbell was en route to his residence when he apparently turned into the wrong driveway and into the garage, according to Stewart.
The sergeant said Campbell did not have much recollection of the crash.
No injuries were reported, and Campbell was taken by ambulance to Eastern Maine Medical Center for further evaluation.
Campbell’s pickup had significant front-end damage, and the impact knocked down a pillar inside the garage that can be repaired, Stewart said.
