PORTLAND, Maine — Downeaster train travel was affected Tuesday morning by an MBTA commuter train blocking the tracks just south of Haverhill, Massachusetts, according to Amtrak’s website.

Passengers on trains 680 and 682 out of Portland traveling to North Station were transferred to a bus in Haverhill for service to Woburn and Boston, according to Amtrak.

Northbound passengers on trains 681 and 683 bound for Brunswick and Portland, respectively, were brought by bus from North Station to Haverhill to board the train.
