PORTLAND, Maine — A Sebago man will spend two years on probation after he was sentenced on a charge of theft from interstate shipments, the U.S. attorney’s office said.

Jeffrey Wheeler Jr., 31, was also ordered to pay $1,376.28 in restitution. He pled guilty in September 2015.

Between December 2013 and February 2014, Wheeler stole several shipments of prescription drugs while employed as a UPS truck driver. The shipments had been intended for veterans at the medical facility in Togus.

The case was investigated by the Criminal Investigations Division of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Office of the Inspector General.
