NAPLES, Maine — Investigators are blaming slick roads for a crash that seriously injured the driver of a truck Wednesday.

The Cumberland County Sheriff says the driver, 65-year-old James Sherbert, went off the Route 35, hit a big oak tree and flipped over.

Deputies said the truck was loaded with 1,000 gallons of heating oil and that the shifting weight, road grade and road conditions were factors.

The driver suffered some broken bones and was said to be in serious but stable condition Wednesday night.
