Game notes: The Black Bears seek their 17th straight home victory with their annual Play4Kay cancer fundraising day. UMaine is coming off Saturday’s 72-38 win at UMBC, which was its sixth in a row overall. The Wildcats ended a three-game skid by beating Binghamton 64-49 on Saturday. Wood carried UMaine in the first meeting, but the Bears will be challenged by UNH’s length in the frontcourt. Defensively, UMaine must limit penetration and keep the Wildcats’ offensive rebounds to a minimum. The Bears also must strike a balance between breaking down UNH with patient offense and capitalizing on transition chances.

Game notes: The Black Bears hope to halt a two-game skid after a tough 83-79 setback against UMBC on Saturday in Portland. The Wildcats have won two in a row after Saturday’s 59-55 decision at Binghamton. UMaine must find a way to avoid getting its defenders isolated in the post against UNH, which pounded the ball inside effectively in the first meeting. The Bears also need a determined rebounding effort to prevent giving up second-chance points. UMaine will again try to implement its fast-paced style in the hope of wearing down the Wildcats.
