DANFORTH – Una Rose (Lee) Cropley, born March 31, 1936, left us February 18, 2016.
She is survived by her seven children, Paula and Maurice McLaughlin, Trudy Johnson, Dawn and Dwayne Young, Sandra Cropley, Amber and Dave Brown, Wesley and Deborah Cropley, and Teresa Cropley; 13 grandchildren, Kristy and Tony Frassinelli, Wendy and Waleed Ismael, Christopher Yeo, Jessica and Josh Yother, Tracy Crone, Adam Williams, April and Stu King, Jeremy and Krystal Williams, Jeremy and Mylena King, Lalainia King, Danielle and Scott Zakrajsek, Nick and Susan Brown, Corey Brown; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; her sisters, Violet, Leone, Audrey and Lola; brothers, Chet, Eli, Roy and Darrell. She was predeceased by her husband, Merle “Fred” Cropley; two children, Karen and Edward; one sister and three brothers.
She was an avid Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics fan, but enjoyed any sporting event or game show. She instilled a passion, which infected her family and many others, to know more about everything around us. She was eager to teach, and passed on any knowledge she was asked for, whether it was cooking, crocheting, knitting, and crafting in general. Una was the one everyone would go to with problems and always had a solution for any “legubious idiot” who wandered in. Una loved her family and all the strays that came along. There was always supper on the stove and coffee in the pot for anyone who needed it. She took great pride in having the best bread in town, and happiness from everyone enjoying a good meal. Having worked as a caregiver for many years, Una had a huge heart and put love into everything she did and every relationship she formed. She was hard-working, loved and inspirational to all she knew and that knew her. Above all, she will be missed.
Friends may visit with her family from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, February 21, at Clay Funeral Home-Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Rd., Danforth, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Robert Root officiating. There will be a gathering at Danforth Fire Department following the service. Spring interment will be in Danforth Hilltop Cemetery.
