NEW HARBOR, Maine — A South Bristol woman suffered a fractured leg when her vehicle hit a tree in Bristol on Sunday evening.
Ashley Blais, 26, of South Bristol was driving her 1996 Subaru Legacy east on Bradley Hill Road in New Harbor when she lost control of the vehicle on a patch of sand in the road, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Rand Maker said.
The vehicle went off the road and struck a tree on the northbound side of the road. Maker said speed was a factor in the accident.
There were no passengers in the vehicle, Maker said. Blais was wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident, and the air bags deployed.
Blais was taken by Central Lincoln County Ambulance Service to LincolnHealth – Miles Campus with a fractured leg. According to hospital personnel, Blais was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland.
The vehicle was damaged enough to disable it operation, Maker said.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer. The Bristol Fire Department also went to the scene.
