PORTLAND, Maine — Donald Trump, the businessman who has rocketed to front-runner status in the Republican presidential nomination race, is scheduled to speak to supporters in Portland on Thursday afternoon, two days before the party’s Maine caucuses.

Maine Gov. Paul LePage, who endorsed Trump last week, will introduce him. Meanwhile, a Portland school board member and regular LePage antagonist have organized a protest rally. Follow developments here:
