ALFRED, Maine — A Portland man has been indicted on multiple charges in connection with a police pursuit that occurred after a bank robbery in Lewiston in September.

A York County grand jury indicted Neil West, 64, on charges of eluding, passing a roadblock and reckless conduct with a weapon, all Class C felonies.

West had been arrested and charged with robbery in connection with the holdup of TD Bank on Lisbon Street in Lewiston on Sept. 12. West had been waiting in a minivan while Joseph Richards, 46, of New Hampshire allegedly robbed the bank at gunpoint.

The men got away with approximately $9,888 in cash.

West was taken into custody following a high-speed pursuit in Saco. He has also been charged in connection with a Sept. 4 bank robbery of University Credit Union in Portland.
