WOOLWICH, Maine — A community will come together Thursday to support the children of a Wiscasset woman who died March 20.
Taste of Maine on Route 1 is known for putting together for a number of benefits to support a variety of causes.
While many people continue to grieve, organizers of the event said they want to do whatever they can to help Hill’s family take care of the children she left behind.
What led to Hill’s death is a mystery, and it’s a question her loved ones want answered.
Maine State Police said they’re investigating claims Hill may have jumped from the cab of her boyfriend’s pickup truck while he was driving along Route 201 in The Forks.
Investigators Poland called 911, put Hill back in the truck and tried to get her to a hospital, but by the time first responders met them it was too late. Hill was dead.
Police said they’re looking at evidence from the scene and the truck. Friends are in shock and disbelief.
They said her twins, a boy and a girl, were her world, which is why people are turning their attention to help them as much as possible.
Event organizers said 30 percent of sales will go directly to a fund in the name of Hill’s kids, and servers also will donate some of their tips.
The event is scheduled from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at Taste of Maine on Route 1 in Woolwich.
