AUBURN, Maine — A 14-year-old has been charged with attempted murder after police say he attacked his 56-year-old neighbor with a hammer in Auburn.
Police responded to a home on Huard Avenue around 7:30 last night.
They say the 14-year-old, who has a history of violent outbursts, attacked the victim with the hammer.
The victim underwent surgery, and is in satisfactory condition. The teen is being held at Long Creek in South Portland.
