BRUNSWICK, Maine — A 59-year-old Topsham was taken to Mid Coast Hospital on Wednesday afternoon after a single-car crash on Merriconeag Road.
Terence Smith was headed north in a 2004 Buick at about 12:12 p.m. when he apparently looked at his cellphone, drove off the roadway, overcorrected and lost control of the car, rolling it several times, Brunswick police Cmdr. Marc Hagan said Thursday.
Smith was taken to Mid Coast Hospital with injuries to his upper body. His condition was not immediately available on Thursday.
Brunswick police reconstructed the crash and are investigating whether speed, alcohol or both were factors in the crash, Hagan said.
