BRUNSWICK, Maine — Brunswick police said Thursday they were continuing their attempts to notify the family of the man who fell to his death from an overpass Wednesday.
The man, a 34-year-old from West Bath, stood on the roof of his vehicle on the northbound ramp to the Merrymeeting Bridge and jumped onto the southbound lane of Route 1, Cmdr. Marc Hagan said Thursday morning.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by rescue personnel.
Police declined to release the man’s name, pending notification of family members.
Traffic was diverted onto the Merrymeeting Bridge and through Topsham for several hours.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
