BANGOR, Maine — A Bangor woman pleaded guilty to maintaining a drug-involved premises during a hearing on Tuesday in U.S. District Court.
Laura Lyons, 30, was among five people arrested in September 2015 in connection with a heroin trafficking operation at the home on Essex Street she shared with her husband, Daniel Lyons, 42, who also was arrested, along with Dionhaywood Blackwell, 31, of New Haven, Connecticut, and Vincent Berube, 50, and William E. Berube, 48, both of Baileyville.
Lyons faces up to 20 years in prison, a $500,000 fine and three years of supervised release.
Daniel Lyons pleaded guilty to the same charge on March 28.
Court records show that the couple allowed heroin to be stored and sold from their home on a daily basis in exchange for the drug.
On Sept. 10 of last year, Bangor police and agents with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency executed a search warrant at the Lyonses’ home. Agents seized 30 grams of heroin, $12,000 in cash and a sawed-off shotgun, the MDEA said at the time.
Blackwell was indicted in November by the Penobscot County grand jury on six counts of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, two counts of criminal forfeiture of a firearm and one count of criminal forfeiture of U.S. currency.
The two Berubes were indicted in November on one count each of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and unlawful possession of drugs.
The case was investigated by the U.S Drug Enforcement Administration and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
