BANGOR, Maine — A local man accused of stabbing another man Saturday in Pickering Square remained jailed Monday.
Bail for Andrew Langley, 20, who was charged with aggravated assault, has been set at $7,500 cash, and he remained at the Penobscot County Jail Monday.
The stabbing occurred about 5:15 p.m.
The 20-year-old victim was listed in fair condition at Eastern Maine Medical Center on Monday afternoon, according to an EMMC spokesman.
Bangor police have said the assault was not random, and it remains under investigation.
Aggravated assault is a Class B crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
The felony assault charge is not the first for Langley, who was found guilty of aggravated assault on Feb. 22 at the Piscataquis County Courthouse in Dover-Foxcroft. He also was convicted of failure to appear in court at that time.
Langley was sentenced to 90 days in jail and ordered to pay $929 in restitution. He was behind bars from Jan. 14 to March 30, according to a jail official.
