ROCKLAND, Maine — A Rockland man is scheduled to make his initial court appearance Wednesday afternoon on charges that he repeatedly stole goods from a local supermarket.

Eben J. Kenney, 29, of Rockland was arrested this week on a warrant charging him with three counts of felony theft. The charges were elevated to felony level because Kenney has two prior theft convictions — in September 2010 and May 2015.

An affidavit filed in Knox County Unified Court by Rockland police states that the department was contacted by the loss prevention officer for Hannaford supermarket in Rockland about a customer who was stealing. The store worker provided police with videos showing Kenney stealing items twice in November and once in December, according to the affidavit.

Police initially were unable to locate Kenney to question him, but eventually obtained an arrest warrant from the court and located and arrested him this week.
