MANCHESTER, New Hampshire — Four people have been killed in a blaze in an apartment building in Manchester, New Hampshire Monday morning, according to WBZ-TV.
Manchester Fire Chief Dan Goonan says the department responded to the fire on Wilson Street around 5:09 a.m., according to WBZ.
Chief Dan Goonan told WBZ they found heavy flames showing from the rear of the building upon arrival.
Chief Goonan says two of the four victims were pronounced dead at the scene, and two were pronounced dead after being transported to a local hospital, according to WBZ.
One firefighter was also transported from the scene with a leg injury.
A cause has not been determined, but Chief Goonan says the building’s back porches were being investigated as a possible point of origin, according to WBZ. A nearby building was also evacuated.
Seven of the 12 apartments in the building were occupied at the time of the fire, and Goonan says about 25 people have been displaced.
