MADAWASKA, Maine — Police have charged a Madawaska man with leaving the scene of a crash and operating under suspension, following an alleged hit-and-run at a local gas station on June 15.
Gary Grivois, 30, left Bob’s Service Station after he allegedly clipped another vehicle that was at a gas pump, according to Madawaska police Chief Carroll Theriault.
Grivois was driving a pickup truck owned by Christopher Morin, 24, also of Madawaska, according to police. Morin was in the vehicle with Grivois at the time.
Theriault said eye witness accounts and video surveillance footage indicate both men returned to the truck after talking with the owner of the other vehicle, once they were told the incident was reportable to the police.
Grivois is scheduled to appear Aug. 3 at Maine District Court in Madawaska.
Police also charged Morin with allowing Grivois to operate the vehicle when he knew Grivois was under suspension. Morin also will appear in court Aug. 3.
According to Theriault, Grivois’ license was under suspension because of an unpaid fine related to him allegedly supplying alcohol to minors.
