BANGOR, Maine — A Steuben man pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm during a hearing Wednesday in U.S. District Court.
According to court documents, the Maine Warden Service on Nov. 16, 2015, found Aaron C. Robinson, 51, with a Savage .308 rifle hunting deer with bait from a tree stand in Steuben.
Robinson, however, had prior felony convictions for terrorizing, bail violations, possession of a firearm by a felon, burglary and aggravated criminal mischief, rendering him ineligible to possess a firearm.
Robinson faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He will be sentenced after the completion of a presentence investigation report by the U.S. Probation Office.
The investigation that led to the guilty plea was conducted by the Maine Warden Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
