UNION, Maine — A Lincolnville man was arrested Tuesday on multiple domestic violence charges and other charges after Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to Maritime Farms in Union for a report of a “rolling domestic.”
The incident that led to the arrest of Tyler Vangel, 22, began shortly before 4 p.m., when a woman asked a witness at Maritimes Farms to call for help for her, Knox County Chief Deputy Timothy Carroll said Wednesday in a news release.
The witness stated that the woman was very upset and her face was bruised. The suspect, later identified as Vangel, got back to the vehicle and the pair left before deputies arrived, Carroll said.
Another witness followed the car and reported that it was near the Union Common. Sgt. John Palmer of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office arrived and arrested Vangel based on the information provided.
“Union Ambulance was called to check on the condition of the obviously abused victim,” Carroll said. “Among other injuries, it is believed she had a fractured nose.”
Vangel was charged with domestic violence assault, domestic violence criminal threatening and reckless conduct. He was also charged with violating the conditions of his release from a prior arrest and operating a motor vehicle after suspension of his driver’s license.
He remained at Knox County Jail Wednesday night.
