HOLLIS, Maine — Firefighters from several towns contained a brush fire Sunday afternoon in Hollis.

Shortly after 3 p.m., the fire at 587 Plains Road in Hollis was moving fast enough to lead to a third fire alarm, bringing in support for towns throughout the area.

The fire burned about 1.5 acres. One firefighter was taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation but is expected to recover.

There are no reports the fire endangered any buildings. The cause of the fire is unknown at this point.

Fire crews brought the fire under control late Sunday afternoon.
