ROCKPORT, Maine — A 50-year-old Rockport woman, who was free on bail after being charged in connection with an alleged attempt to smuggle drugs into the state prison for her husband, was arrested over the weekend after allegedly attacking a woman with a stick.

Robin M. Vultee was charged Saturday by Rockport police with felony domestic violence assault, assault and violating a condition of release. She was taken to the Knox County Jail in Rockland.

An affidavit filed in Knox County Unified Court by Rockport police states that Vultee was screaming at a couple and struck the woman with a stick, causing bruising to her head and a leg. She also assaulted the man, who was not injured, according to the affidavit.

Vultee had been free on bail on charges of trafficking in prison contraband and furnishing drugs to her husband, Erik Vultee, in November 2014 while he was at the Maine State Prison in Warren. Erik Vultee is serving a 14-year prison sentence for sexually assaulting a child and was sentenced last month to an additional 90 days in jail for possessing Suboxone that investigators say was provided by Robin Vultee.
