ROCKLAND, Maine — There is a full slate of candidates on the November ballot seeking to represent Rockland on the regional school board.

Tom Peaco, executive director of the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce, took out nomination papers Monday for a two-year seat on the Regional School Unit 13 Board.

There are two three-year seats and one two-year seat up for vote on the Nov. 8 ballot. Incumbent Board Chair Steve Roberts and architect Gerald Weinand have taken out papers for the three-year seats.

Incumbent Donald Robishaw Jr. is not seeking re-election to focus on a run for the Maine House. The two-year seat opening was created by the resignation this month of board member Jesse Butler, who is moving to South Thomaston.

On the City Council side of the Rockland ballot, former harbormaster Ed Glaser and independent journalist Judith Lawson have taken out papers for the two available seats. Both are for three-year terms. Glaser has turned in his papers and formally qualified for the ballot.

Mayor Louise MacLellan-Ruf said she will not seek re-election. Councilor Larry Pritchett has yet to declare his intentions.

The deadline for filing papers to get on the ballot is Sept. 26.
