The northbound lane reopened to traffic shortly before noon Friday after an overturned tractor-trailer was towed away.
A northbound tractor-trailer carrying U.S. mail overturned around 5:15 a.m. Friday at mile 114 on Interstate 95.
The northbound lane was shut down shortly before 11 a.m. so the truck could be turned upright and towed away. As of noon, one lane was still closed as crews cleaned up debris.
Both lanes were expected to be reopened by 1 p.m., according to a news release from the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Southbound traffic was not affected.
According to the Maine Department of Public Safety, the driver, Nzabandora Appolinaire, 29, of Springfield, Massachusetts, suffered minor injuries. It was his first day of work delivering mail from Springfield to Bangor.
State troopers said Appolinaire veered off the road onto the shoulder and the truck overturned.
