13-year-old boy struck, killed by pickup in Lewiston

LEWISTON, Maine — A woman driving a pickup truck hit and killed a Lewiston Middle School student on a crosswalk Thursday morning.

Lewiston police say Jayden Ch0-Sargent, 13, was crossing at the corner of Main and Frye streets when he was hit by a red Ford F-150 driven by Laurie Young, 54, of South Paris.

The incident happened just after 7 a.m. The Lewiston Police Department is investigating and reconstructing the crash. The investigation will be forwarded to the Androscoggin County District Attorney’s office for review.
