STOCKTON SPRINGS, Maine — Two people have been charged with selling methamphetamine, one from Stockton Springs and the other from the country of Mexico, according to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Tiffany Eastman, 27, of Stockton Springs was charged with unlawful trafficking in methamphetamine, a Class B offense.
Dustin Campbell, 38, of Tijuana, Mexico, was charged with unlawful trafficking in methamphetamine and illegal importation of methamphetamine, a Class C offense.
For the past two months, agents from the MDEA Mid-Coast District Task Force, Waldo County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Postal Inspectors conducted an investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine in Waldo County by Eastman. She was arrested by Waldo County sheriffs’ deputies Aug. 21 at the Rocky Ridge Motel in Stockton Springs. Deputies were investigating a robbery complaint at the motel where Eastman was living. Seized at the time were approximately 66 grams of methamphetamine packaged for resale.
The investigation revealed Campbell had mailed Eastman approximately 88 grams of methamphetamine from San Diego. Eastman had sent a partial payment to Campbell for the meth with the agreement to send the remaining money owed once the drugs had been sold in Maine. The street value of the meth was $18,000.
Agents secured an arrest warrant for Campbell, who is a U.S. citizen living in Tijuana. Campbell was arrested on Oct. 28 at the U.S.-Mexican border crossing as he attempted to enter the U.S. from Mexico. Campbell is being held at the San Diego Central Jail in California as a fugitive from justice related to the Maine charges and he is fighting extradition to Maine.
