The University of Maine continues to receive National Letters of Intent from incoming athletes as the fall signing period continues.

The university recently received two more, including one from a Hermon High School senior.

Hailey Perry, a catcher for the Hawks, signed her National Letter of Intent to play for coach Mike Coutts’ Black Bears on Tuesday.

In addition, the men’s hockey program has received a National Letter of Intent from Latvian forward Eduards Tralmaks.

Both athletes committed to UMaine in their respective sports last spring.

Perry helped lead Hermon to an undefeated regular season and the No. 1 seed in Class B North last spring.

The Hawks won a state championship in Perry’s freshman season and were state runners-up in her sophomore campaign.

Perry hit .604 and drove in 37 runs for Hermon last spring, and she also cracked four home runs. She struck out only four times in 68 at-bats.

Hermon is expected to be one of the top contenders in Class B North again during Perry’s senior campaign in the spring.

Tralmaks, a 6-foot-4, 187-pound winger, is playing for the United States Hockey League’s Chicago Steel, and he was named the Most Valuable Player of the Eastern Hockey League’s Premier division during the 2015-16 campaign.

Tralmaks netted 28 goals and 27 assists in 40 games with the Boston Bandits last year.

In six games with Chicago thus far this season, Tralmaks has recorded one goal and one assist. He also has participated in the International Ice Hockey Federation’s World Under-18 championships.

All student-athlete participation at UMaine is contingent upon acceptance into the institution and meeting NCAA Clearinghouse requirements.
