SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — An Alabama man was charged with operating under the influence after he allegedly caused a three-vehicle crash in South Portland on Friday.
Allen Crosswhite, 31, of Alabama was driving toward the Maine Mall around 7 p.m. Friday when he crossed the centerline on Western Avenue and struck another vehicle, causing a chain reaction crash that injured two people, who were brought to the hospital with minor injuries.
South Portland police charged Crosswhite with operating under the influence.
The crash remained under investigation Saturday, and police said additional charges were pending.
