A 75-year-old Clinton man walked away from an ultra-light plane crash Tuesday with just cuts and bruises, police said.

Bill Fuller was operating the ultra-light in Benton when it crashed about 11 a.m. in the woods off Neck Road, Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety said in an email.

An ultra-light is a single-seat aircraft that weighs less than 155 pounds if unpowered and less than 254, if powered, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Fuller was taken to a Waterville hospital with cuts and bruises, McCausland said.

Efforts to reach Fuller were unsuccessful Tuesday afternoon.
