Good morning. Temperatures will be in the mid-50s with sunny skies throughout the state.
Here’s what we’re talking about in Maine today.
Here’s where the Maine Legislature candidates stand on key issues

With less than two weeks to go until the 2018 Election, the Bangor Daily News put the same eight questions to every candidate on the ballot in each of the 35 Maine Senate districts and the 151 Maine House of Representatives districts, getting their stances on the economy, health care, infrastructure and other issues. Here are their answers.
How Maine’s gubernatorial candidates would manage the economy
Maine’s four gubernatorial candidates have released their rough economic roadmaps, with Republican Shawn Moody targeting “red tape” and Democrat Janet Mills leaning on a battery of grant and loan programs.
The competing plans are often vague but fit the candidates. Moody, who founded a chain of collision centers, wants to streamline permitting and tighten spending. Mills, the attorney general, is heavier on grant, loan and financing targeted toward specific goals.
This family takes off-the-grid to the extreme

This Belfast family embraces the kind of simple life that might have been more familiar to people 200 years ago than today. Instead of electricity, they light their nights with candles. They cook and heat their home with a wood stove, keep food cool in a root cellar, use an outhouse instead of indoor plumbing and travel from place to place via bicycle and public transportation instead of car.
But this simple home, where the quiet of an autumn day isn’t broken by the hum of a motor or the pings and whirrs of a computer, is rich in other things, they said.
“Limitation creates abundance,” Ethan Hughes said. “That’s what we’re not taught in a consumer society.”
Prosecutors want to see John D. Williams’ ambulance papers
Lawyers representing the man accused of killing Cpl. Eugene Cole of Somerset County Sheriff’s Office in April say police beat an apparent confession out of their client.
Now prosecutors from the attorney general’s office want to see records kept by the private ambulance firm that treated Williams at the Waterville Police Station.
Williams is being held without bail at the Maine State Prison. He is scheduled for trial in a Portland court in June.
