Three Bangor men were arrested on drug trafficking charges Monday, including one 61-year-old who allegedly had $68,000 worth of heroin and crack cocaine at his home on Market Street.
The man, Edward Wallace, was charged with trafficking in heroin and cocaine after police executed a search warrant at his home. Police said they found him alone, and he offered no resistance. They allegedly found 200 grams of heroin and 170 grams of crack cocaine, along with more than $8,000 in proceeds from drug sales.
His arrest was part of a large, ongoing investigation into the sale of narcotics brought to Maine from other states, according to a joint statement from Commander Darrell Crandall of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Chief Mark Hathaway of the Bangor Police Department.
Police arrested two other people on Monday in connection with the investigation, which involved undercover agents purchasing drugs from more than one suspect at Wallace’s home.
They charged Daniel Reed, 48, of Bangor with trafficking in heroin and cocaine, and violating conditions of release — after he was previously arrested on a charge of drug possession.
Tony Brown, 40, of Bangor and New Haven, Connecticut, was charged with aggravated trafficking in heroin and cocaine. He also has been charged with violating conditions of release, after a March 2018 arrest for alleged drug trafficking.
All three were arrested at different locations in Bangor and taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
