Fort Fairfield hung on to a narrow lead to defeat the Penquis girls 62-58 and move on to the Class C North quarterfinals.

No. 7 seed Fort Fairfield entered the tournament with a 14-4 record. Penquis ends its season with a 10-9 record.

Fort Fairfield will play again on Wednesday, Feb. 20, when the team faces Dexter in the quarterfinals.
