A Westbrook man who robbed or attempted to rob 11 Portland-area stores over the course of about three weeks was sentenced to nearly six years in prison for the crimes Wednesday, U.S. Attorney Halsey Frank announced.
Travis Jonathon Card, 38, was sentenced to five years and 10 months in prison, as well as three years of supervised release by U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Torresen, Frank said.

Card held up the Riverton Gas Station in Portland on March 20 with a pellet gun, then went on to rob another 10 convenience stores, restaurants and coffee shops in Greater Portland before his arrest on April 12.
His final robbery in the string came the day before his arrest, at Moby Dick Variety in Old Orchard Beach, prosecutors said. Card pleaded guilty in August 2018.

“For weeks in 2018, the defendant terrorized the Portland area,” Frank said in a statement. “There was no excuse for his behavior. Thanks to the outstanding work of law enforcement agencies, he has now been held accountable.”
