A 62-year-old Connecticut man was found dead in a Palmyra motel room Wednesday morning, according to the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Toby Blodgett discovered the body while conducting a welfare check at the request of the staff of Lovley’s Motel, Chief Deputy James Ross said in a Wednesday email to reporters.
“The report was that a man and woman had been renting a room for several months and that the man had not been seen for an extended period of time,” Ross wrote, in part. “It was also reported that the woman was exhibiting unusual behavior.”

Blodgett checked the room in question and “was immediately able to determine the man had been deceased for a significant amount of time,” Ross continued.
The chief deputy wrote the death is not considered suspicious, but said the investigation is ongoing, and would include an autopsy to determine what caused the man’s death.
The woman, who was also not identified, was transported to Sebasticook Hospital to be evaluated, Ross wrote.
