Police said a woman found dead in a pond last summer died from drowning combined with drug intoxication, but officials couldn’t determine the manner of death.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner reported Monday that the manner of 35-year-old Jessica Gallant’s death was undetermined, meaning it was not ruled a homicide, a suicide or accidental. The Sun Journal reports Auburn Police Chief Jason Moen said the investigation into Gallant’s death in July 2018 remains ongoing.
Officials said they found a number of drugs in Gallant’s system at the time of her death, including a number of illegal opioids and cocaine.
Gallant’s body was found unclothed floating about 20 feet offshore in a popular fishing pond on the northern tip of Lake Auburn.
