The human remains found by a hunter behind the Central Maine Power Company’s Edison Drive complex in Augusta have been identified.

The remains, which were found on the evening of Nov. 13, belong to Scott A. Milliken, who had lived in Augusta, according to Deputy Chief Kevin D. Lully of the Augusta Police Department.

Milliken was 54 at the time that he was reported missing in 2017.

Correction: A previous version of this story had the incorrect date Milliken’s remains were found.
