YARMOUTH — Grammy Award-winning multi-instrumentalist Mitch Reed is launching a weekly Cajun Jam at 317 Main Community Music Center’s Café. Admission is free and all are welcome. The inaugural date is Thursday, July 13 from 6:30 to 8 p.m., and the 317 Main Café will have refreshments for sale.

Known for his mastery of Louisiana traditions, Mitch Reed has played alongside Louisiana greats such as Michael Doucet, Charles Neville, and George Porter.

“At Cajun Jams, musicians of all abilities are welcome to join and spectators are encouraged to attend. It’s all about bringing people together, and passing on traditions,” says Reed.

Mitch Reed has been exploring the connections between the music of Acadia and Acadiana and says he is “always looking to trade a tune.”
