A Cape Elizabeth man was killed Tuesday when his vehicle crossed the centerline on Forest Avenue in Portland and hit another vehicle head-on.
Portland police were called to the crash at 1808 Forest Ave. on Tuesday at about 1:16 p.m.
Witnesses reported seeing a vehicle driven by a 62-year-old man from Cape Elizabeth cross the centerline of Forest Avenue and hit another vehicle head on. First responders were unable to resuscitate the man, whose name is being withheld until his next of kin is contacted, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Portland police.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 35-year-old South Portland man, was brought to Maine Medical Center with broken bones but no life-threatening injuries.
The road reopened at about 5:30. Police have not pressed charges.
