A Bangor man was struck by a vehicle that fled from the scene Thursday evening.

The 46-year-old was walking near the intersection of 14th and Union streets about 6:31 p.m. when the white car hit him, according to Bangor police Lt. Jason Stuart.

The driver did not stay at the scene.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital, where he is in stable condition, Stuart said.

It’s the second crash involving a pedestrian in Bangor this week. On Monday evening, a Brewer man was struck by a vehicle on York Street. That man was taken to a local hospital, where he was in stable condition.
