I am writing to express my support for Legislative Document 780, which proposes an amendment to the Constitution of Maine to protect personal reproductive autonomy. As a resident of Maine, I believe that every individual should have the right to make decisions about their own reproductive health without interference from the state.

LD 780 would affirm the fundamental principles of dignity and liberty by recognizing personal reproductive autonomy as a central aspect of individual freedom. By enshrining this right in the state constitution, Maine can ensure that its residents have the legal protections necessary to make informed choices about their bodies and their futures.

In a time when reproductive rights are under threat across the country, it is more important than ever for states like Maine to take proactive measures to safeguard these essential freedoms. I urge our legislators to support LD 780 and to prioritize the protection of personal reproductive autonomy for all Maine residents.
