Update: Police identified the victim as 51-year-old Jason Nadeau of Lincoln.
One person is dead after a shooting in the Penobscot County town of Lincoln on Wednesday.
At about 9:25 a.m, Lincoln police went to a house at 614 Mohawk Road after receiving a report of a shooting, Maine State Police said in a news release.
At the house, the officers found one deceased person. The body of the person, who police have not identified, was brought to the state medical examiner’s office for an autopsy to make an official determination of the cause of death.
The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit North is investigating. Police believe it was an isolated incident and that there is no danger to the public.
No additional information was immediately available.
