Since when does our country stab a friend in the back and leave them to the wolves, like we are doing to Ukraine? I believe the U.S. was not “great” until after World War II, when we went all in for our friends overseas who were being attacked by Japan and Germany.

And right after the war, with the Marshall Plan, we shared a vast amount of our wealth with our former foes, in order to build them back up, and come back to join us as national friends. It cost us a lot, in both money and lives, but it made us great, in terms of both wealth and spirit, and pulled up the rest of the developed world as well.

Appeasement, as Britain’s Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain showed us and as we appear to be on the verge of doing with Russia, does not work.
