The body of a missing Thomaston man was found earlier this month, state police said Tuesday.

Darryl Sanborn, 64, was last seen in Waldoboro on April 5. Two days later the town’s police department requested assistance from the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit.

On April 17, a person walking on a dirt road off Wagner Bridge Road in Waldoboro found the body of an adult man, officially identified as Sanborn after an autopsy, according to state police.

The discovery of Sanborn’s body was not made public prior to Tuesday.

The cause and manner of his death are pending. State police spokesperson Shannon Moss said there is no known danger to the public.
