The candidates in the 2026 Democratic primary in Maine's 2nd Congressional District are shown from left to right — Paige Loud, Jordan Wood, Joe Baldacci and Matt Dunlap.

The four Democrats seeking to succeed U.S. Rep. Jared Golden of Maine’s 2nd District will meet at 8 p.m. Tuesday for the first of two TV debates in their June primary.

State Auditor Matt Dunlap, state Sen. Joe Baldacci, former political operative Jordan Wood and social worker Paige Loud will be at the event hosted by WMTW, WABI and WAGM.

They are vying for the nomination to take on former Gov. Paul LePage, a Republican who is unopposed in his primary and has become the frontrunner in the race to replace Golden, a four-term congressman who abruptly decided to pull out of the 2026 race in November.

Correction: An earlier version of this post misstated the time of the debate. It is 8 p.m.
