Candidates in Maine’s ranked-choice primaries for governor and Congress are playing a waiting game. The lull follows an increasingly bitter season on both sides of the aisle.
A restaurateur who just bought a $1.8 million coastal winery is facing liens and lawsuits totaling nearly $600,000. Blaze Restaurant Group owner Matthew Haskell told the Bangor Daily News the money he owes to various companies is “being worked out.”
The University of Maine System is starting its search for a new chancellor. Dannel Malloy, a former governor of Connecticut, recently had his contract extended for the final time through June 2028, leaving the board time to find his replacement.
