A Bangor man allegedly sexually abused a young child.
Robert Kniesner, 36, has been charged with gross sexual assault, according to the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.
Kniesner allegedly assaulted the child, who was under the age 12, in Ripley back in 2015.
The Somerset County district attorney’s office referred the case to the sheriff on May 13 of this year, and a deputy determined there was probable cause for an arrest.
Knieser was arrested Wednesday in Bangor.
He was taken to the Somerset County Jail in Madison, where he was being held on $5,000 bail ahead of a Thursday court appearance.
