BELFAST — Revolution Rail Co. opened its new Belfast Station on Friday, July 24, marking the company’s ninth rail bike destination nationwide and second location in Maine. The new tour takes guests along the historic Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad corridor aboard custom-built rail bikes, offering a new way to experience the area’s scenery and railroad history.
Located at 13 Oak Hill Road on the grounds of the historic City Point Station, Belfast Station is just minutes from downtown Belfast. The 8-mile round-trip ride winds through forests, crosses several bridges, and travels over streams and brooks, giving guests the opportunity to experience a part of the region that is rarely seen.
Unlike traditional cycling, rail biking allows guests to pedal specially designed rail bikes on historic railroad tracks. Belfast’s fleet features electric-assist rail bikes, making the ride comfortable and accessible for families, couples, friends, and multi-generational groups. Along the way, guides share stories about the history of the railroad and the surrounding community.

Tours depart from Belfast Station and last approximately 90 minutes. The Belfast Station Run will initially operate Fridays through Sundays, with departures at 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Tours can be booked on two-seat and four-seat rail bikes, with tandem rail bikes starting at $110 and quad rail bikes starting at $200.
