A Standish man allegedly sexually assaulted a girl under age 14.
Jeremy Carter, 34, has been charged with gross sexual assault, unlawful sexual contact, unlawful sexual touching, sexual exploitation of a minor and possession of child sex abuse material, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
Carter was arrested Thursday morning after police began investigating the alleged sexual assault back in July.
He was taken to the Cumberland County Jail in Portland, where Carter was being held on $50,000 bail. His bail conditions include no contact, direct or indirect, with girls under age 16.
