Happy Wednesday!

We have less than two weeks before Election Day. If you haven’t voted absentee, there’s still time to figure out which way your vote will go. And candidates will be working overtime to get their face and message out there.

Our U.S. Senate race is no exception.

Poll after poll after poll after poll suggest the contest between Republican U.S. Sen. Susan Collins and Democrat Troy Jackson could be decided by the tightest of margins.

Both candidates are lining up to see whether the undecided voters will choose them to go to the royal ball before the clock strikes midnight.

So former U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia will stump for Collins in Androscoggin County today, and U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will campaign for Jackson and other Democrats in Portland on Thursday.

Today we have another seasonable day ahead, with sunny skies, light winds and temperatures in the 50s throughout the state.

Like many old commercial centers that have been revived in fits and starts, downtown Bangor doesn’t get up early or stay up especially late. If you’re looking for an off-hours meal, you might not even think of going there.

But give it another look in a month or so.

A new burger joint and bar with forgiving hours should be open by then at 68 Main St., the space that was most recently home to Taste of India.

Burgers & Bad Decisions will offer some of both starting at 5 a.m. and continuing until midnight, maybe later on weekends.

Owner Shianne Levesque envisions a comfortable place to drop in before or after work — a space that’s welcoming for families, first responders and anyone who wants a break from cooking.

You can read about the “bad decisions” in today’s story. But spoiler: They’re not bad.
